2009; Year Of The Golden Ox!

People who born in the year of 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, and 1997
are under the sign of the Ox. The Ox, or Buffalo sign, symbolizes the prosperity through fortitude and hard work.
Those born under the influence of the Ox are fortunate to be stable and persevering.
The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character. Ox people work hard without complaints at work or at home.
They know that they will succeed through hard work and sustained efforts,
and do not believe in get-rich-quick schemes.

Why does on Chinese New Year celebrations
Chinese will wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper,
and give gifts of "lucky money" in red envelopes?
It is because of their belief that Red is associated with fire,
which is thought to drive away bad luck.

This is not mine.. lol.
The red card with fishes deco on it was from me.. :p
My friend said it means 'ONG'! (lucky)

Chinese are strongly believed that 'orange' will bring them good luck.
That is influenced by the word 'orange' that sounds like 'Ji' which means 'good luck'.
So that is why, Chinese people will present Oranges to their friends and relatives to express
their respects and good wishes for the coming year.

Happy Chinese New Year!!
One famous person born in the year of the Ox is Barack Obama.
